Safety Fest TN 2024

Safety Fest TN is the combined efforts of federal, state and local agencies; large and small businesses; and non-profit organizations that come together to promote safety and health at work, at home and in the community. Safety Fest TN provides a week of free safety and health training annually in Oak Ridge, and Knoxville, Tennessee, and is dedicated to the mission of making the region the safest place to work and live in the United States. The safety and health classes, demonstrations, and workshops are free to the public to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn safety skills.
The annual week-long event is free and open to the public. Classes, sessions, and demonstrations are held at multiple locations in Oak Ridge and Knoxville, TN. Safety First TN draws participants from across Tennessee as well as the nearby states of Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Types of Classes and Demonstrations Offered: With a long list of subjects, there’s a class, session, or demonstration designed for almost everyone, including safety and health professionals, managers, workers, and members of the public. Some of the many classes offered include Arc Flash Hazards, Back Safety, Chain Saw Safety, DOT General Awareness, Ergonomics, Fall Prevention, Human Performance Improvement, Incident Investigation, Ladder Safety, Machine Safety, Recordkeeping, Scaffolding, and OSHA 10-hour, 30-hour and 40-hour HAZWOPER training. In addition to classes, safety demonstrations from organizations as diverse as Pike Electric, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, and UT LIFESTAR are presented.
In the most recent Safety Fest week of free safety and health training, over 1,300 people registered for approximately 3,200 class seats, representing some 260 organizations from 128 cities in 21 states. They come from large and small businesses; non-profits; labor and trade unions; utilities; universities, colleges, vocational and trade schools; and federal, state, and local governments.
